Many people work together to enhance the quality of worship at St. Timothy’s. New people are always welcome to help in any of these areas if you have an interest in contributing your time and effort.

CHOIR

St Timothy’s choir is a dedicated group of singers who share their gifts with the congregation each week and help lead the singing of hymns and service music. They warmly welcome anyone who would like to join the choir. They meet each Sunday morning. Please check the calendar for the time.

ALTAR GUILD

The Altar Guild faithfully and reliably prepares for worship every Sunday. The work is quiet. One member describes the preparation for communion as a solemn occasion in which we set the altar table for the Lord.

Every Sunday the altar is set with the elements necessary for a Communion Service. It is much like preparing for a family celebration: cleaning, preparing the table, decorating with flowers and candles.

USHERS

Ushers welcome worshipers to the sanctuary, hand out the worship bulletin for the service, collect the offering, and notify parishioners by pews when it is their turn go forward to the altar for communion.

CHALICE ADMINISTRATORS

During the Liturgy, a rotating group of Chalice Administrators enhance the worship experience by offering the cup of wine to those receiving communion at the altar.

READERS AND PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

During the Liturgy, lay Readers lead the congregation in the Scriptures and Prayers of the People on a rotating basis.

LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS

We also want to serve members who are unable to come to church.

At the end of the Worship Service, one of the rotating Lay Eucharistic Visitors is commissioned to take Holy Communion to members who are homebound, hospitalized, or otherwise unable to be present for services.

GODLY PLAY VOLUNTEERS

While Godly Play is for our children, Godly Play Leaders at St. Timothy’s have deep spiritual experiences in the Godly Play classroom, too, as they recapture the innate sense of the presence of God that children live with every day.

To volunteer as a Doorkeeper or Storyteller, please reach out to Miz Lorenzo-Aguilaror or Aimee Formo.

Want to know more before you take the plunge?  Feel free to contact any of our current Doorkeepers or Storytellers for more information about what they love about Godly Play and what a day in the life of a Godly Play Leader is like.

Other Opportunities

Other lay members of the congregation work behind the scenes to enhance our worship experience and meet the operational needs of the church. You may be interested in serving in one or more of these areas.
